The rosary crucifix is a replica of the crucifix hanging above the chapel altar, hung with an M shaped chain, subtly showing the profound connection between the Holy Spirit and the Son of God. In our youth, we did not think much of that; the chain was just there, serving its obvious function.

As we gazed up to the huge and prominent medallion of the Holy Spirit above us, with wings spread out as if in embrace of all of us there, we were home. The back side of the rosary's center medal is a replica of this Triune Holy Spirit medallion.

Mary is at the front of the rosary's center medal - daughter of God the Father, mother of God the Son and spouse of the Holy Spirit. The image of Mary is a rendition of the bust of the Immaculate Spouse of the Holy Spirit, a visual representation of Mary's Fiat. This bust had been in residence at the office of the President apparently for some time now but had only come to our attention recently. It was reproduced and was handed out to the 100 Outstanding Alumnae at the school's Centennial Celebration of its founding in 2013.

Touched by the Spirit in a special way, may we be reminded of the quiet, still voice to listen for, as we strive to answer the call in our own small, ordinary but consequential world. Like our Mother Mary, let us allow the Holy Spirit, and Mary herself, to guide us in Soaring Spirit and Boundless Love, as in gratitude, we pay forward in service to God, country and our beloved school.

As we say the prayers intently from our hearts, bead by bead, pondering the mysteries, being brought back to that place and time, and at the same time being here and now, indeed the Spirit lives on and soars.
